Sloths spend so much time hanging upside down that their fur grows
in the opposite direction of other mammals, either way they are
cute!

I Can Has Cheezburger has done it again! A miniture matching
version of any animal gets me everytime! I don't suppose there
is any doubt that this is her kitten ;-)

Going golfing this weekend?

Have you ever found yourself at the golf course
unable to find a caddie to carry your clubs? Or
an electric cart to take you around the course?
Or even a golf trolley? Well fear not, one golf
course has come up with a solution to this problem.




LLAMAS!!!
A golf course in the United States has taken the
unusual move of using llamas as caddies.

The animals are being trained to carry golfers' bags
at Sherwood Forest golf club in North Carolina.

Once they get to grips with their role, the club is hoping
to hire them out to other courses in the area for specialty
events. BBC News

What in the Worldis a Piglet Squid?

Piglet Squids are "about the size of an avocado, and those
bushy eyebrow-type protuberances are actually eight tentacles
and two "arms." A row of pigment-containing, light-reflecting
cells called chromatophores are responsible for the appearance
of a smile on this particular specimen, and its bright eyes
are the result of two light-emitting organs called photophores,
which are located behind each of its eyes." Los Angeles Times.

What in the world is a Civet?

From BBC News: "A Cornish zoo has helped an endangered
species of mammal by successfully breeding two rare Owston's
Civets." Civets are endangered due to illegal hunting for
their meat and fur. Good job Cornish Zoo!

Wrestling Pandas

I'm not sure if this is cute or if I should be worried about
the safety of these panadas. On the one hand pandas wrestling
with each other is just about as good as it gets for the cute
-aholic. On the other hand, panda on panda violence needs to
stop! I am not sure whose side to take.

Lucky Zoo

This is one of two river otters who just moved
into the New York State Zoo.

"The first of the river otters have arrived at the New York State
Zoo at Thompson Park, awaiting the completion of their brand-new
exhibit space. The pair arrived Saturday evening from a North
Carolina wildlife rehabilitation facility, and were lapping up
attention from a parade of visiting zoo staff and friends in their
off-exhibit holding areas Sunday afternoon." The Watertown Daily Times

calm done everyone, these adorable little guys
are scottish earfolds. Their ears are suppose to
look that way. Super Cute!

What in the World is a Sifakas?

These little guys with amazingly lush fur are hanging
out at the Bronx Zoo Madagascar exhibit. They are
apart of the primate family and they can user their legs
to jump up to 30 feet. Who knew? What interesting
and cute little creatures.

It's Otter Time!

The Auckland Zoo is over joyed (and so are)
to welcome these two little guys to their family.
The two little guys just weigh a little less than a
pound!
